Dean Russell, PGA Professional
  • Dean Russell is a 28 year member of the PGA of America, being recognized with the “Quarter Century” and "Life Member" honor of the Pacific Northwest Section, PGA.

  • Dean is the PGA Professional Emeritus at the Bellingham Golf and Country Club, serving the membership as Head Professional for 16 years, 1990 to 2005.  Dean also served at the Overlake Golf & Country Club from 1983-87. 

  • A golf professional since 1980, was named the Western Washington Chapter, PGA “Golf Professional of the Year” in 1999 & 2000.  Past President of the Western Washington Chapter, PGA.

  • A five time “Horton Smith Award” winner in the Western Washington Chapter, PGA and the Pacific Northwest Section, PGA for the continuing development of education for PGA members and apprentices. 

  • Has 21 wins as a professional in the Western Washington Chapter PGA, including the 2011 Washington State PGA Senior Match Play Championship and the 2010 Chuckanut Cup Match Play Championship.  

  • Has played in (9) WWC PGA North-South Cup Matches and (2) Washington-Oregon Hagen Senior Cup Matches

  • Has (3) career aces and a career low 65 as a professional.       

  • Coached both the Men’s and Women’s Golf Programs at Western Washington University with the Vikings Women's Squad finishing 5th in the NCAA Div II National Championships, 2004 & 2005.

  • Named 2004 NCAA West Regional “Women’s Golf Coach of the Year.”

  • 1979  Whatcom County Amateur Champion.

  • 2 year letter winner of the Ferndale High School Golf Team, and was a member of the 1978  "Golden Eagle" squad that finished 7th in the "AA" State Tournament.

  • Currently, The Ferndale High School Girls Golf    Coach, in his 5th year at the Golden Eagle helm.

Chico Russell
Teaching Professional
A lifetime resident of Ferndale, "Chico" started golfing at the age of 10. He was a 4 yr letterman & 2 yr captain of the golf team at FHS where he still holds the 18-hole scoring average in 1973. He entered the golf business in 1978 as a greens keeper and is knowledgeable in all facts of the golf industry. He has been a teaching professional for the past 15 years, and has enjoyed being part of the "Russell Tandem" with brother Dean for the past 25 years. Away from golf, "Chico" can be found fishing or watching high school sports. He has played softball for 20 years in Whatcom County.
